Monthly bookkeeping

Keep the books current and know the month is actually closed.

You keep running the business. We organize the bills and receipts, match the books to the bank, follow up on what is missing and deliver the finished month.

What happens each month

You send the business activity. We take it through to a finished month.

Repeatable steps can be automated, but the month still gets reviewed by a person. We focus our attention on what is missing, unusual or needs a decision.

1

Send us the bills and receipts

Upload or email them through Hubdoc. Repeat suppliers can be automated where it makes sense, so you do not have to handle the same paperwork over and over.

2

We prepare and review what you owe

Supplier bills are checked in Xero, itemized when needed and prepared so accounts payable stays current and understandable.

3

We match the books to the bank

Bank feeds or statements are brought in so the accounting record is checked against what actually moved through the business.

4

We investigate what does not match

Automatic matches and bank rules are verified, while unusual dates, combined payments, clerical differences and other mismatches get a closer look.

5

We ask you only for what we cannot answer

Missing receipts, unclear deposits and other questions become focused requests in the ITC Accounting Portal instead of long email chains.

6

We finish the month

Once open questions are resolved, the accounts are reconciled and fixed assets or depreciation are updated where applicable.

7

We prepare GST/HST and the financials

GST/HST work within the agreed scope and the financial statements are prepared from books that have already been reconciled and reviewed.

8

Your reports arrive in the Portal

Financial statements and management reports are published in one place so you can find the finished month when you need it.

9

Full-service clients can hand off more

Where included, ITC can also support approved bill-payment runs and customer statement delivery so payables and receivables stay connected to the books.

Reconciliation

Automation saves time. We still check the result.

Xero can suggest matches and apply rules to familiar activity. We use those tools to move faster, then verify the dates, amounts and details before the month is considered complete.

The unusual items get human attention

An odd transaction, missing receipt or unusual month gets more attention than a recurring item that has behaved the same way all year.

Clean books are useful books

The close feeds reporting, advisory and better decisions.

Once the month is reconciled, we can spend less time debating whether the numbers are right and more time discussing what they mean.

Common questions

About monthly bookkeeping.

What happens during a typical month-end close?

We organize the bills and receipts, review what is owed, match the books to the bank, investigate anything unusual, ask you for missing information, finish the month-end work, and deliver the financial statements through the ITC Accounting Portal.

How do you handle missing receipts or unclear deposits?

We raise questions through the ITC Accounting Portal so the client can answer and attach supporting documents in one place. That keeps unresolved items connected to the bookkeeping workflow.

Do you review bank rules and automatic matches?

Yes. Automation speeds up familiar work, but we still check the dates, matches and details rather than clearing transactions blindly.
